Staying Alive is deployed, or being deployed, in 90 French départements including overseas territories. It is operated mainly by the departmental fire and rescue services (SDIS) and also by the SAMU emergency medical services. Outside France, the service is live in Belgium and in Luxembourg with the Corps Grand-Ducal d’Incendie et de Secours (CGDIS). Several countries including Croatia, Brazil, Italy are working on deploying our solution in the upcoming months.
The application and the citizen responder service are provided at a cost to emergency medical, fire and rescue services in standalone mode or integrated with our APIs, where alerts are triggered directly from your own dispatch software. Price depends on customisation and population covered size.
What a deploying service gets: a geo-located alerting engine that reaches qualified responders within a defined radius of the victim, an AED database management tool and a responder community management solution. But waht makes the difference is our ten years of operational experience with dispatch centres.
Local network
To strengthen its presence on the ground, Staying Alive has built a team of volunteer local coordinators. Their duties vary with local circumstances but generally include representing Staying Alive locally, keeping a regular link with the association’s team, and recruiting new citizen responders. The same model can be reproduced in any territory that deploys the service.
How a deployment starts
Most deployments follow the same path: a first conversation on your dispatch protocols and coverage area, a technical review of how alerts would be triggered, a pilot on a defined perimeter, then progressive extension. We do not ask you to change your protocols. The citizen responder is dispatched alongside your professional response, never instead of it.
